What’s new
16:9 is available: horizontal live streams with HypeLayer
Until now, HypeLayer was vertical. Not anymore: you can create a 16:9 show, the horizontal format of Twitch and YouTube streams, with the same templates and widgets as in 9:16.

Two formats, one tool
9:16 stays the default, built for mobile-first live streams. 16:9 comes alongside it: a horizontal canvas for the platforms and screens that broadcast in landscape.
Each show has its own format. You pick it when you create the show, in the template gallery, and it sets the canvas of its scenes and the size of its broadcasts.
What changes for you
- Every template is offered in both formats. In landscape, their layout is placed by hand, not just stretched.
- Widgets keep the same size as in vertical: your settings carry over without redoing anything.
- Broadcast quality is independent from the format: Eco, HD and Full HD give 960 × 540, 1280 × 720 and 1920 × 1080 in landscape.
- You can also start a blank show in the format you want.
The format is fixed when the show is created: scene layouts depend on the canvas, so there is no switch afterwards. For the other format, simply create a second show.
Where can you use it?
HypeLayer overlays go through OBS: a 16:9 show works on any platform that accepts a landscape OBS stream, including Twitch and YouTube. Interactions that read chat still depend on each platform’s integration.
